Anelka: We Have to Win Every Game
By Marshall Dyton | Feb 11, 2010

Nicolas AnelkaFormer Arsenal striker, Nicolas Anelka has sent a word of warning to his teammate that they have to be focused and win every game.

Anelka who netted a long-range effort against the Gunners away from home last season, said this ahead of their game against his former club Today at Stamford Bridge.

'The most important thing is not about Arsenal, it's about us,' he told club’s official website.

'We have to stay focused because we are playing at home and we want to win this League, and they will obviously play to win.

'But we will have to beat Arsenal or whatever team it may be. We will have to win every game now to win this title because it is going to be very tough.

'Manchester United are only two points behind us, so we have to be very careful not to drop points. We have to play our best and stay completely focused for each game.'

Chelsea’s hit man has scored few goals against Gunners, which he feels like special to him.

'I have scored a few goals against them,' admits Anelka, 'and you always enjoy scoring goals, no matter who they're against, but against an old club is a bit more special.

'And if I have a chance to score again, then I will score again.'

Anelka said there is nothing behind for him to score only long-range goals against his first senior team.

'Not really,' says Anelka, 'it's just that if there's an opportunity to score, I will score. 'If it's a goal from afar, then it's a goal from afar, but if I have a chance to score from inside the six-yard box then I will score from there as well.

'I'll always take any opportunity to score if one comes up.'

Nicolas began his career at Paris St-Germain, before moving to Emirates Stadium as a 17-year-old in early 1997.

Arsenal arrive at the Bridge six points behind the Blues, and this is a must win game for them if they want to remain in the title race.
