Cesc Fabregas set to miss Wednesday's Champions League quarterfinal clash against Barcelona

Cesc FabregasArsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits Cesc Fabregas may miss Wednesday’s first leg Champions League quarterfinal clash with Barcelona at Emirates stadium.

The Spain international is struggling with bruising to his knee and leg  suffered last Saturday during Premier League clash against Birmingham and the manager says he can not take a gamble if he is not capable to play.

“He did not train this morning and at the moment he is not fit to play,” Wenger confirmed according to Team Talk.

“We will give him 24 hours more, but I don’t know if he will be available.

“If the game were today, he would not play.

“If he is not capable to play, I would not take a gamble and put him on the bench.”

Another good news for Arsenal is that William Gallas has returned to training after missing eight games due to calf problem and it is likely that Wenger may give Sol Campbel  a rest.

Barcelona have also suffered another big blow after Andrea Iniesta was ruled out last weekend due to hamstring problem.
