In his recent tour to South Africa, Confederation of African Football president Issa Hayatou says he is convinced with South Africa’s ready to host World Cup.
“It is not only me who really feels because we recently had the majority of the qualified teams coaches at Sun City and all of them had a good impression, and they all left very satisfied about what is ahead of them in June,” Hayatou told South Africa’s nation newspaper, Sunsport.
“South Africa has long had the necessary sporting infrastructure. But now we can show it to the rest of the world.
“As an African I can express my satisfaction that this will be a historic World Cup. African footballers have shown their ability in Europe but now our organizers can show their ability too,” he added.
However, Hayatou said he was worried with other African teams , Cote d’ Ivoire and Nigeria after they recently sacked their coaches.
“I’m hopeful the teams will b well prepared and that they will represent Africa from June 11 onwards,” the Cameroonian-born official said.
