Arsenal youngster, Fran Merida is reported to have failed to sign news deal despite agreeing contract terms earlier this year.

According to Sky Sports website, say Merida has agreed a new deal with Atletico Madrid. The website further report that Sources in the Spanish capital claim that Merida has agreed terms with Atletico, to join them in the summer.

Merida’s contract at Emirates Stadium has expired this year but snubbed to sign new contract.

The 19-year-old arrived in London when he was just 16 years old and it’s rumoured want to return to his homeland, after failing to make the impact expected at Arsenal.

Merida has failed to breakthrough into the first eleven that Fabregas who also joined Arsenal at the age of 16 from Barcelona.

He went to Real Sociedad in 2008 where he seemed to play in senior team..

Merida want to join his club which he has been a die-hard support throught his life.

He also featured in last week’s FA CUP third round game against Westham which the Gunners won 2-1.
