Portugal national team coach pleased with FIFA's professionalism
By Marshall Dyton | Mar 13, 2010

CarlosPORTUGAL coach Carlos Queiroz said he is pleased with the world football governing body and local organizing committee of the 2010 World Cup South Africa after he saw the effort they made in his country’s base camp.

The team is scheduled to be staying at the Valley Lodge in Magaliesburg and two pitches are expected to be refurbished at the Hoerskool Bekker, where the team will be training during the such memorable tournament.

“I’m particularly pleased to have found the professionalism and the great effort being made by the management of Fifa and the local organizing committee to meet all our requests and concerns. They are trying to do what we requested during our first visit to the site,” the former Bafana Bafana coach told local newspaper Daily Sun.

“If our team do not play well it will not be because of lack of conditions. We are out to honour Portugal and Portuguese football.

“We compete against great teams that want to do as well as us and we will do everything to win our games and be better than the others,” he added.

Brazil, North Korea and Cote d’Ivoire are Portugal’s first round opponents.
