Despite his team's elimination in quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations in January in Angola, Didier Drogba has so far played a major to role to his club with scoring in almost each game.

Drogba came from bench to score another important goal for Chelsea to seal their 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Saturday registering his 31st goal of the season .

The Ivorian captain, has scored more goals for Chelsea than any other foreign player and is currently Chelsea's 8th highest goal scorer of all time.

Joining Chelsea in 2004 at £24 million, Drogba became the most expensive Ivory Coast player in history and helped Chelsea to win their first ever Premier League title in 2005.

This season, Jose Mourinho’s ghost has found a net in each game against Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.

In the 2006 World Cup , Drogba scored Ivory Coast's first ever goal of the competition and at the same time he was chosen as the 2006 African Footballer of the Year before finishing the next season as top scorer in the 2006–07 Premier League with 20 goals and also scoring the winning goals in the 2007 League Cup and FA Cup finals.
